Members of Bristol’s 1931 Women’s History Club received an update on the progress at Virginia Business College. They were particularly enthusiastic about the updates to the former Virginia Intermont College campus and the opportunity to attract business degree seeking students to Bristol, VA via Virginia Business College. The first cohort of students will begin in August 2020.

Virginia Business College is a non-profit, private four-year college focused on business degrees. Virginia Business College students will be part of a cohort of like-minded students and faculty with similar interests and aptitudes. Students will select one of the following concentration tracks: accounting, business analytics, entrepreneurship, human resource management, information technology management, management/leadership, or marketing. In addition, all students will complete an internship. Virginia Business College students will be more competitive as they search for their first job because they are academically prepared and have the hands-on experience.President Dr. Gene Couch shared an overview of renovations to the campus grounds and seven buildings that will be ready for students in August. Dorm space and supporting student services (dining hall, fitness center, library, book store, etc.) will be available for students interested in living on campus. Tours of the campus and academic spaces will begin in February for prospective students and families. In addition, open houses will be scheduled for the community in spring.
